Join us as we host a 👻spooktacular💀 CLCI Live where we discuss ways to navigate and overcome our fears and limiting beliefs.
It's that time of year again. Halloween 🎃is almost here and it's time we face our fears. No, not ghouls and goblins but the fears inside our minds that hinder our success. Today a flapper (Lisa Finck (C.P.C., A.C.C.), a skeleton (Brooke Adair Walters (M.C.L.C., C.P.C), and Beetlejuice (Jerome LeDuff Jr (M.C.L.C.) with two of our recent graduates, Abigail and Sherri, share their fears about entering the coaching world.
One of the best ways to overcome your coaching fears is to first identify it and see the patterns. Do you...
Stop before you start to avoid failure?
Get bogged down in angst?
Avoid new experiences?
Get stuck in your head and fail to act?
Feel like you don't deserve your success?
All of these are the common ways our anxieties and limiting beliefs manifest in our day to day lives. Don't be too alarmed if one or all of these are true for you. Fear is natural. Fear is what has kept the human species alive after thousands of years but sometimes that primal fear hangs around like a ghost, haunting us when it should be put to rest.
As one of our awesome teachers, Daniel Olexa puts it this way, "Don't coach the ghost".
Know what you are in control of. Let go of the immaterial things that are out of your control. By doing so you empower yourself and find a balance in your world.
There are lots of things our discussion covers that will empower you but one of the most important is building your network and support system. Have a person or even your own coach give you a different perspective and the support you need. We all acknowledge that as coaches, we are valuable, necessary, and can enact positive change. Believe in yourself and also believe in the power of others. You may not destroy your fears, but you will certainly master them.
