It's the end of the year and things are winding down here at CLCI.
It's nearly time we return to our dens and settle in for hibernation. Having no classes and no CLCI Lives for almost 3 weeks gives us a lot of time to think...
Speaking of which, think about the past year; yes you! A whole 365 days of growth, change, some failures, and success.
Imagine after 8760 hours of life and all you could say about the year was either "It sucked!" or "It was great!".
How would you know that? What standard are you using?
There must be a better way to review a year...
Which is why for our final CLCI Live, Lisa Finck (A.C.C.), Brooke Adair Walters (M.C.P.C.), and Anthony Lopez (M.C.P.C). evaluate our own year-in-reviews' and go above and beyond just giving it a 10/10.
For coaches this can be an invaluable tool in exploring what your clients have accomplished this past year and can help set the client up for future success. So let's get reviewing!
The Ultimate Year-in-Review Questionnaire
Who doesn't love setting goals? It's what we coaches do. Sometimes we are so good at it we may even be tempted to start...🤢New Years Resolutions.
But the one thing many coaches (and people in general) need a little help with is reviewing their already set goals. To add to that, life isn't just about goals, goals, goals. We learn, we grow, we face challenges and also have fun.
So we ask you to sit down and answer these questions with yourself or a client. The blanks are left for you to fill.
1. When Did I Most Enjoy Myself?
What did you most enjoy about coaching this year? When did your light turn on? When did you forget about time and just exist in the moment?
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
2. What Did I Achieve This Year?
What did you set out to do and also accomplished? This can range from the big goals to the small day-to-day accomplishments. Allow yourself to show off and be proud.
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
3. How Have I Helped Others?
Let's make it even tougher. Coaching can't be on this list. How have you impacted your neighbors & community for the better?
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
4. What Challenges Have I Faced?
The year couldn't have all been easy-breezy. What challenges were difficult for you? In this space we value the small challenges just as much as the big ones. Not every challenge must be met and overcome, sometimes accepting adversity is enough.
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
5. What New Things Have I Created?
Did you create something new or turn something existing into your own version? It can range from having a child to adding a secret ingredient to your favorite recipe. We are always synthesizing new ways of being so be proud and share it.
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
6. What Did I Learn?
The learning doesn't stop after school. People are constantly taking in new information, evaluating it, and incorporating it into their body of knowledge. The whole point of this year-in-review is to learn. So what did you learn? A new skill, a hard lesson, a new belief?
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
7. Who Have I Met? Who Did I Get To Know Better?
Some say relationships are what define us. Others say relationships only indicate the kind of person we are. At CLCI we think understanding the people we surround ourselves with is the best way to understand ourselves. So who have you gotten to know better? What does it say about you and what you value?
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
These final questions will only have one answer but may be the most important questions to answer to set yourself up for the new year. Here we go.
8. How Can I Celebrate My Achievements More Next Year?
---------------------
9. How Can I Allow Forgiveness For When I Fall Short?
---------------------
We left these last two more open ended because we want you to think. Hard. The secret goal of coaching isn't really about just meeting a list of goals. It's about discovering our potential and being happy with who we are.
